Learn how to cast a fly fishing rod and take your first steps in fly fishing. It’s one of the most traditional and enjoyable categories of angling, and it won’t take you long to get the hang of it. Learn new casts and techniques to help you catch more fish.



Book a fly casting lesson
For Beginners – Why not book yourself an introductory lesson in single handed fly casting and find out what it’s all about. We’ll show you how to use the equipment and get you ready to catch your first fish on the fly. All equipment is provided for your lesson. Then, if you want to learn more or buy your own fly fishing equipment, we’ll give advice on what you need to do.
For Improvers – If you’ve already got the fly fishing basics but want to further improve your casting skills, we can offer assessment and guidance to help you move to the next level. Learn new casts and techniques to increase your catch rate.
We can also offer general advice on equipment selection and assembly, methods, tactics and venues for fly fishing in Ireland.
Our fly casting lessons
We’re based in Navan in County Meath, (about 25 minutes off the M50) . All equipment for your lesson is provided, but feel free to bring along your own gear if you have it. Hourly rates apply. Weekend, weekday and evening sessions available. This is personalised service, so lessons are tailored to suit you.

Fly fishing lessons on the water – river or lake
Once you’ve mastered the fly fishing basics and learned how to fly fish, you’ll be ready to go fishing independently. We can advise you on suitable locations or take you on guided fishing trips to some amazing rivers and lakes to fish for trout and other species.
Fly fishing for Pike has become very popular in Ireland and is available twelve months of the year. We’ll advise you on the appropriate tackle and how to cast big flies and streamers to catch these large predators.
