At Go Fishing Ireland we run family fishing trips and fishing lessons for children on the local lakes during the summer and autumn months. It’s a fun and unique experience for children and parents and suitable for children aged 6 years and over.
It’s also a great way to spend family time together, learn a new outdoors skill and create great memories.
What you’ll learn
- Learn how to assemble the fishing equipment, cast the line and hook your first fish
- Learn how to identify the various species of wild fish that live in the lakes of Ireland- Roach, Perch, Bream, Tench, Pike
- Learn how to handle a fish correctly and release it back to to the water
It’s about having fun and learning a new skill
Family fishing trips are a fun and relaxed experience, usually lasting 3 hours in duration. We enjoy a 100% catch success rate thanks to the great stock of wild fish in the beautiful lakes of the Boyne Valley. At least one parent or guardian must attend the fishing session. All fishing equipment and bait is provided.
Our fishing coaches and guides are fully qualified angling instructors (A.P.G.A.I Ireland) and are fully Garda vetted.

Our family fishing experiences take place at various lake venues in Meath and Cavan, about an hour’s drive from Dublin. Places are limited so early booking is recommended.
